The To Be Read Tag | Bookmas Day Eight

1. How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
I have a 'books I own and haven't read yet' shelf on Goodreads. It's not always up-to-date but I do like to (at least sort of) keep track of my unread books so it doesn't get too crazy.

2. Is your TBR mostly physical or ebooks?
They're all physical books. I can't get on with ebooks and that's probably a good thing because I can imagine my TBR pile getting pretty overwhelming very quickly if I had a Kindle!

3. How do you determine which book from your TBR pile to read next?
I'm definitely a mood reader. I can't make monthly to-read lists & actually stick to them. It really depends on what kind of book I'm in the mood for at the time, but if I still can't decide I tend to read the first page of a couple of different books and if one draws me in I'll stick with it.

4. Which book has been on your TBR pile for the longest?
Ooh that's a good question. I have owned Stoner by John Williams for a fairly long time but I'm still excited about it, I'm just waiting to be in the right mood for it.

5. A book recently added to your TBR pile?
The Rehearsal by Eleanor Catton.

6. A book on your TBR pile because of the beautiful cover?
After my disappointment with Boy, Snow, Bird I have definitely learned not to pay too much attention to beautiful covers.

7. A book on your TBR pile you never plan on reading?

8. An unpublished book on your TBR list?
I don't think there are any. I'm not very good at keeping up with upcoming releases but let's just say any future book that J.K. Rowling publishes!

9. A book on your TBR that everyone else has already read?
Oh gosh, there are so many but Northern Lights by Philip Pullman springs to mind instantly. I can't believe I never read the series when I was younger!

10. A book that everyone recommends that's on your TBR list?
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. I'm a couple of chapters in at the moment but my mind is being taken over by the poetry essay that I need to write, so I haven't been able to give it my full attention. I have a feeling it's going to be amazing though.

11. A book you're really excited to read?
All of them but especially The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

12. Number of books on your Goodreads TBR?
Currently 249 but I do like to go through every so often and remove the ones I'm not so interested in any more so it's probably a lot less than that really - and I don't own all of those so it's okay.  I'd be totally overwhelmed if I owned over 200 unread books!

How do you like to keep track of your to-be-read books?
